County’s oldest cemeteries not just for pioneers? (Newspapers of Fayette County)
DECORAH – For some people contemplating their demise, a desire to be buried beside a favorite oak tree, or in a grassy meadow is more important than the eulogy given in their memory. When two individuals recently requested burial in pioneer cemeteries, it raised questions for the Winneshiek County Pioneer Cemetery Commission overseeing the 37 pioneer burial grounds in Winneshiek County.
